Asayish find remnants of war left by ISIS in Syria’s Raqqa
RAQQA, Syria (North Press) – On Monday, the Internal Security Forces of North and East Syria (Asayish) found Exclusive Remnants of War (ERW) left by the Islamic State Organization (ISIS) in the eastern countryside of Raqqa, north Syria.
Based on the received information about strange objects in the village of Dahla east of Raqqa, engineering teams headed to the scene where they found ERW left by ISIS, on its official website, the Asayish said.
The engineering teams uncovered the strange objects to discover later that old shells and explosive devices left by ISIS present there. Dismantling and transferring processes occurred without reporting losses or casualties, according to the Asayish.
The Asayish publicized photos presenting scores of mortars that were underground.
On February 20, the Asayish found a depot for manufacturing and storage of explosive shells, explosive devices and other military supplies belonged to ISIS in Raqqa.
Since last year, combat engineers have defused 79 land mines, 87 shells, 365 grenades, 12 explosive belts, and 25 missiles, all were remnants left by ISIS, Asayish told North Press.
