AANES hands over two children of ISIS members to UK
QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) – The Foreign Relations Department in the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (AANES) handed over, yesterday, two orphan children of the Islamic State Organization (ISIS) members to a British delegation after a meeting held in the city of Qamishli.
The British Deputy Consul General in Erbil, Jamie Hamill, met yesterday the Deputy co-chair of the AANES’s Foreign Relations Department, Abeer Eliya, head of Europe Relation Affairs office, Shiwaz Khalil, and the member of The Women’s Protection Unit (YPJ) Relation Office, Lana Hussein, according to the AANES’s Foreign Relation Department official account.
Eliya noted to the thousands of ISIS detainees and their held-in-camps families, underscoring the need to keep the collaboration to fight ISIS and its ideology.
She also expressed her disappointment over the international community’s failure to solve the “ISIS dilemma” whether by establishing international courts to try the ISIS militants or finding a mechanism for transferring the foreign countries’ nationals to their countries.
The British Deputy Consul General praised the role of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) in fighting ISIS.
He also necessitated the issue of finding a political solution in line with the Security Council resolution 2254.
Hamill noted, “The UK is committed to hold every perpetrator in Syria accountable” along with their commitment to fight ISIS.
