Government forces and opposition factions exchange shelling in Syria’s northwest

IDLIB, Syria (North Press) – On Monday, the de-escalation zones witnessed military escalation and exchange of shelling between the Syrian government forces and Turkish-backed opposition factions in separate areas in northwest Syria.

“Al-Fateh al-Mubin Operations Room intensified its artillery and missile bombardment on the Syrian government forces’ sites in the villages and towns of al-Malajah, Dadikh, al-Dar al-Kabira and Hazarin, south and east of Idlib,” military sources in the opposition told North Press.

“The opposition factions also targeted the Syrian government forces’ positions in the towns of Miznaz, Kafr Halab, Jadaria, and the 46th Regiment, west of Aleppo, and areas near al-Baraka and al-Mabaqir in the Ghab Plain, west of Hama,” the sources said.

Meanwhile,  the government forces targeted the opposition factions’ positions in the villages and towns of al-Fatira, Kafr Aweed, Sufuhn, Kansafra and the outskirts of al-Bara in Zawiya Mountain, south of Idlib, and the towns of Taqad and Kafr Noran, west of Aleppo, with heavy artillery and rockets, according to the same sources.

Furthermore, the Miznaz and Kafr Noran areas, west of Aleppo, witnessed sporadic clashes with heavy and medium weapons between the opposition factions and the government forces, but no casualties were reported.

This morning, Russian warplanes launched several air raids on the opposition sites on the outskirts of the village of Fleifel in Zawiya Mountain.
