Turkish-backed opposition member killed in Syria’s northeast

TEL TAMR, Syria (North Press) – A member of the intelligence service of the Turkish-backed armed opposition factions was killed yesterday, Saturday, in the countryside of Sere Kaniye (Ras al-Ain), northeastern Syria, in mysterious circumstances.

The body of an intelligence officer in the Military Police Department called Ali Abu Ibrahim was found in the vicinity of the village of Mabrouka in the countryside of Sere Kaniye, Saturday, according to websites close to the Syrian opposition.

Local sources believed that the murder of Ibrahim is a settling score among the factions, amid the state of security chaos in the region.

In October 2019, the Turkish forces and the Syrian opposition factions launched ground and aerial offensive against Sere Kaniye and Tel Abyad in NE Syria displacing approximately 300,000 civilians, reports said.

Since Turkish forces and Turkish-backed armed factions took over Sere Kaniye and its countryside the area is witnessing constant security chaos.
