Intensively, government and opposition exchange shelling in Syria’s northwest
IDLIB, Syria (North Press) – Described as intense, military escalation and exchange of shelling between Turkish forces along with Turkish-backed opposition factions and the government forces, took place in separate places in the Idlib and Aleppo countryside of the de-escalation zones in northwest Syria witnessed on Thursday.
The opposition factions’ sites in the villages and towns of al-Habata, Kafr Noran, Taqad, al-Wasta, Ajel and Kafr Ta’al in the western countryside of Aleppo, were intensively hit with heavy artillery and missiles by the government forces, local military sources told North Press.
The government forces’ shelling resulted in the killing of a person who was said to be a civilian and the injury of others of varying severity, the sources added.
The opposition factions’ sites in the towns of al-Bara, Kansafra, al-Fatira, Fleifel, Deir Sunbul, Benin, Sfuhen and Kafr Aweed in Zawiya Mountain, south of Idlib, plus Ma’arat al-Naasan and its outskirts, east of Idlib, were also bombed by the government forces their positions at the surrounding checkpoints, according to the same sources.
Meanwhile, the government forces’ sites near the Bastroun and 46th Regiment, west of Aleppo, were shelled with heavy artillery by the Turkish forces stationed in the vicinity of the city of Atarib, military sources in the Syrian opposition told North Press.
Al-Fateh al-Mubin Operations Room bombed the government forces’ sites near al-Baraka in the Ghab Plain, west of Hama.
Over the past 48 hours, the de-escalation zones in the countryside of Idlib and Aleppo, have witnessed military escalation and intense bombing by the government forces, amid intense flight of Russian reconnaissance planes over the opposition factions’ points which responded to the sources of fire.
