Government forces open settlement center in Syria’s Aleppo countryside
ALEPPO, Syria (North Press) – On Wednesday, the military command of the Syrian government opened a center to settle the status of wanted residents and deserters from the military service in the town of Tel-Arn, in the southeast countryside of Aleppo, north Syria.
“The first center was closed yesterday in the town of Maskana, and the second center in Deir Hafir continues to work until further notice. Today the Tel-Arn center has been opened to facilitate the arrival of the largest number of residents to settle their pending situations,” an official source in Aleppo governorate told North Press.
“The government must open these centers in places close to the crossings with the opposition-held areas if it is serious about settling the status of the wanted persons,” a tribal notable from the town of Tel-Arn told North Press.
“The most important thing is to reopen those crossings. People here do not need reconciliation. Rather, they need services that give them a decent life,” he added.
“The settlement and national reconciliation must be for those who have been in dark prisons for years. They must return to their families,” he said.
Over the last period, the government forces have worked to open several settlement centers in several cities under their control.
