Total toll of Syrians killed and wounded by Turkish border guards
QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) – The Violation Documentation Center in Northern Syria (VDC-NSY) documented the death of 525 Syrians, including 101 minors and 67 women until February 21, 2022.
Since the start of the Syrian crisis until February 21, 2022, 525 Syrians were killed, including 101 minors and 67 women, and the injury of further 1,337 persons by the Turkish gendarmerie, the VDC-NSY declared.
The Turkish border guards (gendarmerie) repeatedly target the Syrian people living in the villages adjacent to the Turkish border or those who try to cross into Turkey illegally.
The Syrian people are now certain that Turkey has let them down in terms of the political, economic and humanitarian fields, the VDC-NSY said.
Turkey has always been a party of the Syrian conflict. It opened its borders for arms and militants to cross into Syria. It also supported dozens of armed groups.
Plus, Turkey receives international assistance and funds provided by the European Union and by the United States but delivers nothing to the Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) in the areas controlled by Turkish forces, according to the VDC-NSY.
