Leader of Turkish-backed faction killed in Syria’s Aleppo countryside
ALEPPO NORTHERN COUNTRYSIDE, Syria (North Press) – On Friday, a leader of the Turkish-backed Suqour al-Sham faction was killed in an IED explosion in the city of al-Bab in the eastern countryside of Aleppo, north Syria.
“The IED was planted by unknown persons inside the car of Fadi Abu Hussein Suqour, the leader of the Suqour al-Sham faction, which killed him instantly,” an exclusive source told North Press.
“The leader was targeted near the college of the Turkish-backed Hamzah Division, on the western route of the city of al-Bab,” the source said.
The leader holds the position of official of the faction’s public relations office, according to the source.
Yesterday, Thursday, a member of the Public Relations Office of the Turkish-backed Syrian National Army, nicknamed Abu Khaled Sidawi, was killed after his car was targeted with an IED behind the Fatima al-Zahra Mosque in al-Bab, according to the same source.
Since 2017, al-Bab city has been under the control of the Turkish-backed armed Syrian factions following Operation Euphrates Shield, which was led by Turkey and Turkish-backed Syrian factions.
Areas controlled by the Turkish-backed factions have been witnessing security chaos accompanied by frequent explosions, in addition to cases of kidnapping and corruption amid the failure of these factions to maintain security.
