Internal and external factors precluded implementation of some projects in 2021: AANES
RAQQA, Syria (North Press) – Internal and external factors precluded the implementation of some projects in 2021, Hamdan al-Abd, deputy co-chair of the Executive Council of the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria, said on Sunday.
This came on the sidelines of the annual meeting of the AANES Executive Council in the presence of the co-chairs of the Council and the executive councils of the autonomous and democratic administrations.
Many crises in north and northeast Syria negatively affected the projects that were scheduled to be completed in 2021, al-Abd told North Press.
The economic siege, the Covid-19 pandemic, and the decline in the agricultural production due to the lack of rain and the lack of the Euphrates River level all played a role in the deterioration of the living conditions of the areas run by the Autonomous Administration.
The activity of ISIS sleeper cells and the instability of the security situation in some areas negatively affected domestic and foreign investments, al-Abd added.
He pointed out that the Turkish attacks on north and northeast Syria are the most biggest challenge facing the Autonomous Administration as well as the residents of the region and posing a threat to their lives.
Al-Abd indicated that the Autonomous Administration is working to boost the economic situation during the current year till self-sufficiency in production is reached.
The annual meeting of the AANES Executive Council and the executive councils of the civil and democratic administrations will continue until tomorrow, Monday.
The plans and projects that the Autonomous Administration will work on implementing during the year 2022 are supposed to be discussed tomorrow, Monday.
