Notables Body in northeast Syria calls for recognition of AANES
QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) – On Tuesday, the Body of Notables of North and East Syria called on the Global Coalition, the United Nations, and international institutions to recognize the Autonomous Administration, and to resolve the issue of ISIS members detained in northeast Syria.
the Body, which includes notables of the Arab, Kurd tribes plus Chaldo-Assyrians, said in a statement that the attack on al-Sina’a prison for ISIS detainees came in tandem with the Turkish attack and the affiliated opposition factions on the frontlines.
“The Syrian Foreign Ministry’s statements against the Autonomous Administration confirm that what happened was not for taking ISIS prisoners out of the prison, but the goal was to strike the Autonomous Administration and create chaos in the region,” it said.
The Body accused the Syrian government of not telling the truth about what is happening in Hasakah.
“The regime’s speech should have brought Syrians together in a national situation that would lead to a Syrian national dialogue to reach a political solution to the Syrian crisis, ” it added.
The statement called on the Global Coalition and the United Nations to recognize and support the Autonomous Administration politically and militarily to achieve security and stability in the region.
The statement also called for the issue of ISIS detainees in the prisons of northeast Syrian to be discussed and resolved internationally.
