Several parties involved in al-Sina’a prison attack in Syria’s Hasakah, AANES
RAQQA, Syria (North Press) – The attack on al-Sina’a prison in Guweiran neighborhood in Hasakah, northeast Syria, is a compound operation with several parties involving in, spokesman of the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (AANES), Loqman Ahme, said, on Friday.
Since last night, the Islamic State Organization (ISIS) sleeper cells have been attacking al-Sina’a prison in an attempt of jailbreak.
The prison is located on the outskirts of the Guweiran neighborhood at the southern entrance to the city of Hasakah, and it is one of the prisons in which the SDF is holding about 4,000 foreigners from about 50 countries.
Several parties have paved the way for the attack launched by ISIS militants against the prison through waging media attack against the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), Ahme added.
“The first and major party is the remained ISIS sleeper secret cells which try to empower its militants through evacuating the ISIS inmates from al-Sina’a prison,” Ahme noted.
“The Syrian government participated in the attack against SDF through publicizing for these terrorist sleeper cells and presenting them to be Public Resistance Factions as well as providing them with press and logistic support,” he told North Press.
Ahme pointed out that the other party which benefits from the incidents in the prison is “the Turkish government and the Syrian opposition factions,” noting that the relation between those parties and ISIS is good and unbreakable.
The SDF and the Internal Security Forces of North and East Syria (Asayish) with the support of the US-led Global Coalition managed to foil the main part of the joint scheme among all those parties, according to Ahme.
He noted that the failure of the US-led Global coalition to assume to its responsibilities regarding agreements signed with Turkey and halting violations it commits against the AANES-held areas contributes to the failure to completely eliminate ISIS sleeper cells.
He also stressed the necessity of providing support to revitalize the region economically and end the policy of economic siege imposed by the Syrian government supported by Russia in addition to opening of al-Ya’rubiyah/Tel Kocher border crossing with Iraq.
“Ignoring all these issues create a proper environment in which ISIS can revitalize and revive again,” he said.
