Fighting against ISIS continues until all criminal militants put behind bars, Mazloum Abdi
QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) – The Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) will continue their fight against the Islamic State Organization (ISIS), SDF Commander-in-Chief, Mazloum Abdi said, on Friday.
“Our fight against ISIS continues and we will not stop until all criminal elements are put behind bars,” Abdi tweeted.
“ISIS has mobilized most of its sleeper cells in attempt to organize a jailbreak near the Hasakah prison with suicide bombers and an insurgency by detainees inside the prison,” he added.
“Our security forces mobilized and succeeded with the help of the Coalition to repel the attack and the area around the prison was completely surrounded and all fugitives were arrested,” Abdil noted.
The SDF cordoned off, yesterday, the surrounding area of al-Sina’a prison, where ISIS militants of different nationalities are detained, on the back of an attack by ISIS sleeper cells on the prison coincided with three explosions near it.
Members of ISIS sleeper cells targeted the guards of al-Sina’a prison, as a result of which two guards were wounded, North Press correspondent quoted a security source.
Areas surrounding the prison and the outskirts of al-Zohour neighborhood, south of Hasakah, witnessed intermittent clashes after ISIS militants managed to flee the prison.
