Syria’s northeast records 75 coronavirus infections
QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) – The Health Board of the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (AANES) recorded on Saturday two deaths and new 75 coronavirus infections in its areas of control.
This is the first statistic released by the AANES after resuming the work of the Covid-19 testing laboratory in the city of Qamishli, northeast Syria, which went out of service as a result of the shortage of the medical supplies needed for its work in mid-November.
10 new recoveries were recorded, according to the official of AANES account on Facebook.
The new coronavirus infections were as the followings: 62 in Shahba (Aleppo northern countryside where Afrin IDPs reside in), 7 in Hasakah, 23 in Derik, 2 in Tribe Spiyeh and one in Qamishli.
With newly figures announced, the total number of coronavirus infections in the Autonomous Administration areas has risen to 37,035 confirmed cases, including 1,480 deaths and 2,508 recoveries.
Two days ago, the Covid-19 testing lab resumed its work, after securing the necessary items, according to Muhammad Khaled, the manager of the laboratory.
There only is a central lab in northeast Syria which lies in the city of Qamishli, where all tests from all over AANES-held areas are sent to.
