Russia, Turkey jointly patrol in northeast Syria

TEL TAMR, Syria (North Press) – A joint patrol was conducted by Turkish-Russian forces in the border area in the countryside of Derbasiyah, north of Hasakah, northeast Syria, on Thursday.

Without being covered from the air, the 8-vehicle  Russian-Turkish patrol set out this morning from the border gate in the village of Sherk, west of the town of Derbasiyah, and passed through more than 10 villages in the area, an informed source told North Press.

Since the signing of the Sochi Agreement between Russia and Turkey, following the Turkish forces’ incursion into the areas of Sere Kaniye (Ras al-Ain) and Tel Abyad in late 2019, joint patrols have been conducted in the countryside of Derbasiyah and Kobani in north and northeast Syria.
