Child loses his hand in explosion in Syria’s Deir ez-Zor

DEIR EZ-ZOR, Syria (North Press) – On Wednesday, the explosion of a bomb left behind by ISIS caused a child to lose his hand in the town of al-Baghouz, east of Deir ez-Zor, east Syria.

The hand of the 10-year old child, Raed al-Hamada, was cut in an explosion of remnants of war while grazing sheep near his grandfather’s house, a local source from the town of al-Baghouz told North Press.

The child was first transported to the Kaisum Hospital in the town of Hajin, east of Deir ez-Zor, and then to the hospitals in the city of Raqqa, according to the same source.

The remnants of the war are still threatening the lives of residents of various Syrian regions, including the villages and towns of the eastern countryside of Deir ez-Zor, which were the battlefields with ISIS.

In a related incident, two children were injured on October 25 in the explosion of a bomb left over from fighting ISIS, in the town of al-Susah, east of Deir ez-Zor, eastern Syria.
