Russian warplanes target jihadist’s home in Syria’s Idlib

IDLIB, Syria (North Press) – The Russian raids on Saturday morning, targeted the home of Muslim al-Shishani, the commander of the Junud al-Sham faction, opposition military sources in Idlib, northwest Syria, said.

Three people who were said to be civilians were killed in the Russian airstrikes, 12 others were injured of varying severity, the sources told North Press.

Women and children, of al-Shishan’s family and a Turkish militant’s family, were among the injured, as the airstrikes directly targeted their houses, the sources added.

On October 25, the Headquarters for Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS, formerly al-Nusra Front) launched an attack on the sites of Junud al-Sham faction in the Jabal al-Turkman area, northeast of Latakia, and Jisr al-Shughur, west of Idlib.

169 militants, led by Muslim al-Shishani, left their positions in the Yamdiya area in Jabal al-Turkman, according to an agreement with Tahrir al-Sham, exclusive sources told North Press at the time.
