Residents of south Syria’s Suwayda expel Russian patrol
SUWAYDA, Syria (North Press) – On Monday, young men from the town of al-Mazra’a in the western countryside of Suwayda, south Syria, expelled a Russian patrol accompanied by members of Syrian government security forces.
Young men from al-Mazra’a town expelled a Russian patrol in front of the Municipality’s building and threw stones at it, North Press reported local sources in the town.
The Baath Party official in the town was accompanying the patrol, and the patrol was distributing foodstuffs to some residents, the sources said.
After throwing stones at the patrol, some young men fired in the air, which prompted the patrol to leave hastily towards the city of Suwayda, according to the sources.
Eyewitnesses said a drone was escorting the patrol at a medium altitude.
