Local factions, clergies meet after recent incidents in Syria’s Suwayda
SUWAYDA, Syria (North Press) – On Thursday evening, clergies meet with local factions in order to discuss the latest security developments in Suwayda, south Syria, following the raid incident of the National Hospital.
Leaders of anti-Syrian government factions and representatives of political bodies and blocs and clergies met in the house of Sheikh Suleiman Abdullbaqi in the city of Suwayda, a source that attended the meeting told North Press.
“The participants discussed the raid incident of the National Hospital by the government security forces in Suwayda and the impacts including the armed clashes the city witnessed due the incident,” the source added.
“A state of rage has risen among residents due to the raid of the National Hospital which the participants considered a message by the government addressed to the residents of the city regarding its intention to return to violence and illegal security practices,” the source noted.
Meanwhile, the participants stressed their rejection, warning against the government’s return to violence that will only be met with violence, and may draw the governorate to a new cycle of conflict, according to what the source said.
