Russian Reconciliation Center disagrees with Syrian government over wounded of Israeli airstrikes

QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) – On Wednesday, Russian Reconciliation Center for Syria said that only one Syrian soldier was wounded during Israeli attacks, while the Syrian government said that six soldiers were wounded.

“Israel carried out an aggression airstrike from the direction of northeast Beirut targeting some points in the center of Syria,” the Syrian government said in a statement, yesterday.

The aggression killed two civilians and wounded another with serious injuries. Six soldiers were also wounded in the airstrikes and some material losses were reported,” the pro-state SANA news agency said.

“Six Israeli F-16 tactical fighters launched 12 missiles from Lebanese airspace at locations in Homs,” Deputy Head of the Russian Reconciliation Center for Syria, Rear Admiral Vadim Kolet said in a statement.

“The Syrian Armed Forces destroyed ten missiles using the Russian-made Buk-M2E and Pantsir-S systems,” he added.

Israel has not commented on the incident, so far. Meanwhile, France Press cited an Israeli military spokesman as saying, “We do not comment on reports released in foreign media outlets.”

During the past ten years, Israel has carried out dozens of airstrikes in Syria targeting the government’s posts, Iranian targets, and others of the Lebanese Hezbollah.
