Tension in Syria’ Suwayda after clashes between NDF and residents

SUWAYDA, Syria (North Press) – On Tuesday, a tension was arisen in the city of Suwayda, southern Syria, and roads were blocked on the backdrop of clashes erupted yesterday between Iranian-backed National Defense Forces (NDF) and youths in the area.

Yesterday, clashes erupted between members of the NDF and young men who were cutting down forest trees near a government military point on Qanawat Road in the city of Suwayda.

Two young men were wounded in the clashes, and were taken to the National Hospital in the city, and others were arrested.

The security services of the Syrian government cordoned off the hospital, against the backdrop of a raid by armed men with the aim of releasing the wounded, and clashes erupted between the two parties.

There were conflicting reports about the fate of the wounded. While sources from the area suggested that the gunmen were able to get them out, other sources said that it was the security forces who managed to transfer them to another place.

North Press was unable to obtain information indicating the final destination of the injured.
