Turkey shuffles cards by threatening AANES’s areas: Future Syria Party
MANBIJ, Syria (North Press) – Turkey is trying to shuffle the cards through the threats it makes against the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (AANES), a member of the Future Syria Party in Manbij, north Syria, said on Monday.
Turkey has suspended its potential military operation against northeast Syria, as a result of the continued Russian and American refusal and the absence of any consensus in this regard.
Well-informed diplomatic Turkish sources told The New Arab about the expected Turkish military operation in new areas in Syria and its indications.
“Turkish media pressure is still continuing to carry out the military action in the region, and that the Turkish army is ready to conduct and set plans for any future military action according to field requirements,” they said.
“Turkey is still trying to occupy new areas in northern Syria,” said Hind Daghestani, a member of the Manbij Future Syria Party.
“Turkish threats have not stopped since the liberation of Manbij for several years, under the pretext of protecting Turkish national security,” she added to North Press.
Daghestani considered that the use of drones in military operations towards northeastern Syria is a dangerous development that threatens the lives of civilians in populated areas.
Turkey launched a series of drone attacks targeting civilian cars in several areas in northeast Syria, causing deaths and injuries.
AANES condemned the repeated Turkish attacks, and stated that these attacks strike the stability of northeastern Syria.
The member of the Future Syria Party noted to the need for societal awareness of fabrications and rumors circulated by parties linked to foreign agendas to spread chaos, confusion and terror among civilians in the AANES-held areas.
Daghestani expressed her belief that the failure to restrain Turkey by the Global Coalition and the international community, and the failure to stop it from threatening the civilians, creates an appropriate environment to the resurgence of the Islamic State (ISIS).
