Fire broke out in a hospital in Syria’s Raqqa
RAQQA, Syria (North Press) – On Tuesday, a fire broke out in the warehouses of medical equipment in the National Hospital in the city of Raqqa, northern Syria.
The fire broke out in the medical equipment warehouse and damaged most of the existing equipment, Majed al-Ashr, official in the initial response team in Raqqa, said.
The causes of the fire are still unknown, despite the recurrence of the incident twice during the past two days, al-Ashr added.
The burning caused damages to the whole warehouse, according to al-Ashr.
A source from the National Hospital in Raqqa said, “Yesterday, on Monday, a fire broke out in the same warehouse, but it was a small fire that was immediately extinguished.”
“There are doubts that it was an arson, but the perpetrator is still unknown,” the source told North Press.
Raqqa National Hospital includes several departments, including newly opened departments such as the X-ray and radiology department, dialysis, blood bank, and the main hospital building.
