We are close to accomplishment in northeast Syria: Faisal Mekdad

QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) – Yesterday on Sunday, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates of the Syrian government, Faisal Mekdad, said that they are on the verge of “achievement” in northeastern Syria.

Mekdad’s words came through a video statement to the pro-government  al-Watan newspaper.

“The United States of America knows better than others that it cannot manipulate the Syrian national structure,” he added.

He stated that they have many ways that will “convince the Americans to leave” their country, and “suggest that they leave without losses.”

“If the Americans depend on an ethnic structure, then this is a losing bet, because our Kurdish brothers are from the origin of the social, economic and historical structure of our country, and they themselves cannot allow a minority to control them under any slogan.”

Mekdad pointed out that if the United States was seeking some interests, “these interests cannot be achieved by these means.”
