Unidentified gunmen kill civilian in Syria’s Deir ez-Zor

DEIR EZ-ZOR, Syria (North Press) – On Thursday, unidentified gunmen shot dead a civilian in the eastern countryside of Deir ez-Zor, east Syria.

The gunmen, who were riding a motorcycle, shot Issa al-Musa, 28, near the public park in the center of the town, which led to his death instantly, a local military source for the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) in the town of al-Busayrah, 35 km east of Deir ez-Zor, said.

The gunmen were wearing ISIS militants’ clothes, the source told North Press.

The eastern countryside of Deir ez-Zor is witnessing widespread assassinations of members of the SDF, employees of the Autonomous Administration, tribal notables and residents in the area.

Messages from unknown members containing death threats were found on the phone of the murdered young man, according to the same source.

Two days ago, two members of SDF were killed by unknown gunmen in the towns of al-Shuhail and al-Jazra in the countryside of Deir ez-Zor.
