Unidentified gunmen kill SDF members in Syria’s Deir ez-Zor
DEIR EZ-ZOR, Syria (North Press) – On Tuesday, two members of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) succumbed to his injuries in two separate attacks by unknown gunmen in the countryside of Deir ez-Zor, east Syria.
Another member of the SDF lost his life when unidentified gunmen shot him in the town of al-Busayrah, 35 km east of Deir ez-Zor.
A local military source of the SDF said that unidentified gunmen shot Ibrahim al-Qar’ani, a member of the Deir ez-Zor Military Council, near the al-Sa’a (clock) Roundabout in the town.
“Al-Qar’ani died of his injuries, while the attackers fled,” the source added.
The countryside of Deir ez-Zor is witnessing attacks by ISIS sleeper cells targeting soldiers, tribe notables and civilians.
In a separate incident this evening, a military source in the town of al-Shuhail, 40 km east of Deir ez-Zor, said that unidentified gunmen, who were riding a motorcycle, shot dead Hassan Kheleif al-Rasho, an SDF member.
“The gunmen shouted that they had taken a family revenge,” the source told North Press.
An infighting strife broke out about nine months ago between al-Rasho family and another family in the town, which, at that time, led to the killing of two people from the second family.
This evening, in the same town, unidentified persons threw two bombs at the Shabaka bakery in the middle of al-Shuhail town, causing great material damage.
