Manbij Military Council thwarts infiltration attempt
MANBIJ, Syria (North Press) – On Tuesday morning, the forces of the Manbij Military Council, in northern Syria, thwarted an infiltration attempt by the Turkish-backed armed Syrian factions into the northern countryside of Manbij.
A source in the Manbij Military Council in the village of Sayada, 20 km northwest of Manbij, said that the infiltration attempt began in the early hours of the morning under the cover of shelling and heavy bullets on the village.
Manbij Military Council forces caused severe damage to the Turkish base in the village of al-Yashli, which was the source of the bombing of the village, the source added.
Manbij Military Council posted on its Facebook account that the Turkish forces and loyal factions targeted the villages of Boughaz and al-Yalanili in the eastern countryside of Bab al-Sharqi with more than 21 mortar shells.
The Military Council indicated that the shelling came from the Ulshali and Sheikh Nasser bases in the eastern countryside of al-Bab.
On August 5, the Turkish forces targeted the village of al-Yalanli, northwest of Manbij, with several mortar shells from their base in the village of Sheikh Nasser in in the eastern countryside of al-Bab.
