3 wounded in government shelling of Syria’s west Idlib

IDLIB, Syria (North Press) – Three people were wounded on Tuesday in artillery and missile shelling by Syrian government forces on the western countryside of Idlib, northwest Syria.

Military sources in the opposition told North Press that government forces targeted the residential neighborhoods in the village of al-Kafir and the town of al-Alia, located in the Jisr al-Shughur area, west of Idlib, with heavy artillery.

Three civilians were wounded, including a woman in a critical condition who was taken to medical points for treatment, the source said.

The sources indicated that government forces stationed in Jorin Camp bombed the sites of opposition factions in the towns of al-Ziyara and al-Qarqur in the Ghab Plain area, west of Hama, this morning.

The bombing coincided with intense flight of Russian reconnaissance planes.

On Monday, Russian warplanes targeted the towns of Kansafra, al-Fatira and Ihsim, located in Zawiya Mountain area in the southern Idlib countryside with several airstrikes.
