Child wounded due to Turkish shelling on Syria’s Manbij countryside
MANBIJ, Syria (North Press) – On Saturday, a child was seriously injured as a result of Turkish bombing of the village of al-Jarad, in the northwest countryside of Manbij, northern Syria.
Earlier on Saturday, the Turkish forces, stationed in the village of Mehsenli, north of Manbij, bombed the village of al-Jarad with artillery shells, which resulted in the injury of the ten-year-old child, Malek al-Breiho, while he was playing in front of his house.
A relative of the child told North Press that the child was seriously injured in his right leg, and was subsequently transferred to Dar al-Shifa’ Hospital in Manbij.
Doctors in the hospital told North Press that the child is still under observation in the intensive care unit, “because he lost parts of the shin bone, and metal plates were installed on his leg.”
The northern villages of the city of Manbij witness frequent shelling by Turkish forces and the armed factions, in conjunction with infiltration attempts by their members.
On August 22, the Turkish forces and the Turkish-backed armed factions bombed the northeastern and western countryside of Manbij with more than 36 shells.
