Wounded in VBIED explosion in Syria’s Azaz
AZAZ, Syria (North Press) – On Monday, seven people were wounded in in a VBIED explosion at the entrance to the city of Azaz in the northern countryside of Aleppo.
A North Press reporter said that a Honda cargo vehicle exploded near the Silk Road roundabout (al- Jamal Roundabout) at the entrance to the city of Azaz, lightly wounding seven people.
Massive material damage was caused to the site and property of the residents in the area as a result of the explosion, he added.
Since July 2012, the Azaz region and the surrounding villages have been under the control of Turkish-backed armed opposition groups.
Areas held by Turkish-backed militant groups are witnessing security chaos and instability, including successive explosions, kidnappings of civilians, and infighting among armed groups.
