Syria’s Aleppo, Idlib countryside witness military escalation
IDLIB, Syria (North Press) – On Tuesday, Damascus government forces and Turkish-backed armed factions continued their military escalation in the countryside of both Idlib and Aleppo, northwest Syria, and the latter managed to shopt down a Russian drone in the western countryside of Aleppo.
Government forces shelled the villages of Kfar Amah, Teqad, and Kfar Ta’al, west of Aleppo, with heavy artillery shells and rockets, military sources from the factions told North Press.
Meanwhile, government forces renewed their artillery shelling of the towns of al-Fatira and Sufuhun in Zawiya Mountain, south of Idlib, according to military sources.
Fateh al-Mubin Operations Room managed to shoot down a Russian drone in Kfar Nouran, west of Aleppo, after being targeted by anti-aircraft weapons, the sources added.
The military factions targeted government posts in Brigade 46 and the town of Mizanaz, west of Aleppo, with heavy artillery shells and rockets, a military source from Fateh al-Mubin told North Press.
Since early this week, villages and towns of the western countryside of Aleppo have been witnessing intensive shelling by the government, which targeted the area, after a few months of relative calm, with more than 100 artillery and missile shells on Monday.
