Russian warplanes continue bombing opposition factions in northwest Syria

IDLIB, Syria (North Press) – On Monday, Russian warplanes conducted airstrikes against posts of Turkish-backed armed factions west of Hama, northwest Syria.

Russian warplanes targeted the armed factions’ fortifications in the villages of al-Sirmaniyah and Diwer al-Akrad in the Ghab Plain area in the western Hama countryside with high-explosive vacuum missiles and three air raids, military sources from the factions told North Press.

The Russian airstrikes coincided with intensive shelling by Syrian government forces on posts of the armed factions in the western countryside of Idlib, where no human losses were reported, according to the sources.

In Idlib, government forces bombed the sites of the opposition factions in the town of al-Ghani west of Idlib with rocket launchers, amid intense flight of reconnaissance aircraft in the airspace of the region.

Last night, the fortifications of the opposition factions on the villages and towns located in the Ghab Plain area in the western Hama countryside, were subjected to mortar shelling by Syrian government forces stationed in Jorin Camp, according to the same sources.

Fateh al-Mubin Operations Room, which includes Hayat Tahrir al-Sham, the National Front for Liberation,  the Army of Glory (Jaish al-Izza), and other factions, targeted a military barracks in which government forces are holed up in Zawiya Mountain in the southern countryside of Idlib last night.
