Child, woman wounded by government bombardment of Syria’s Idlib

IDLIB, Syria (North Press) – On Saturday, a child and a woman were wounded by the Syrian government forces’ artillery and missile shelling on areas in the western countryside of Idlib, northwest Syria.

Government forces stationed at the surrounding checkpoints targeted the residential neighborhood in Bidama town in the Jisr al-Shughour area west of Idlib with heavy artillery shells and rockets, local sources told North Press.

The child and the woman sustained wounds of varying degrees due to the bombing, and the Civil Defense transferred them to the medical points near the area, the sources added.

Meanwhile, government forces continued their artillery and rocket attacks on the villages and towns of Zawiya Mountain, targeting al-Fatira, Kafr Aweid, Sufuhn, and the vicinity of al-Bara, south of Idlib, military sources form the opposition told North Press.

Moreover, dozens of Turkish soldiers and engineering teams affiliated with them deployed on the M4 Highway, combing the road near Ariha city and Mhambel town, south of Idlib, according to the same sources.

On Saturday at dawn, government forces stationed at Jorin Camp and the villages and towns of al-Mansoura and Kharbat al-Naqus in Ghab Plain, west of Hama, bombed several villages and towns of Zawiya Mountain, without any causalities reported.
