Kurdistan Republican Party-Syria demands recognition of Syria’s AANES
RAQQA, Syria (North Press) – On Monday, the Kurdistan Republican Party-Syria issued a statement in Raqqa, northern Syria, calling on the international community and international bodies to recognize the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (AANES).
Muhammad al-Aboud, the spokesperson of the Kurdistan Republican Party, said in the statement that the international community and its international bodies and institutions should recognize the AANES, “which represent a symbol of democracy.”
“It included all the communities and formed a social mosaic of all spectrums in north Syria,” the statement added.
The statement was read at the party’s headquarters near al-Bayda Park in the center of Raqqa city.
“The system of management of the AANES is a role model in all countries worldwide. It rooted in us the spirit of love and cooperation, and the brotherhood of the peoples,” the statement pointed out.
“We renew our position to the necessity of finding a solution for Syria according to [UN] Resolution 2254,” the statement added.
“We call on the UN to appreciate the desire of our people in their choices; that is to administer themselves by themselves,” the statement stated.
On Sunday, activists on social media launched a hashtag campaign to demand international recognition of the AANES, following the publication of the hashtag by the Commander-in-Chief of the Syrian Democratic Forces Mazloum Abdi.
