Mutual shelling renewed between government forces, armed factions in Syria’s Idlib
IDLIB, Syria (North Press) – On Saturday, the Syrian government forces bombed opposition factions’ sites in Idlib countryside, northwest Syria, in light of the military escalation and mutual shelling between the two parties within the de-escalation zone.
“The government and Russian forces, stationed in the vicinity of the town of Kafr Nabl, bombed the sites of the factions with heavy artillery shells where they hit houses in the town of Sarjah, south of Idlib,” sources of the Syrian Civil Defense (White Helmets) told North Press.
“The bombing resulted in the killing of a woman and two children, in addition to wounding several other civilians,” the sources added.
The government bombardment targeted the villages and towns of al-Fatirah, Kafr Oweid, Sufuhn, the outskirts of al-Bara and Binin forests in the Zawiya Mountain area, south of Idlib, according to military sources.
The same sources indicated that on Friday-Saturday night, the al-Fath al-Mubin Operations Room targeted the government forces’ positions on the Hantoutin areas of Idlib with mortar shells.
