Future Syria Party Youth Council discusses youth participation in Raqqa
RAQQA, Syria (North Press) – Moafaq Ismail, head of the Future Syria Party Youth Council, said on Wednesday that the absence of youth participation in political life affects society negatively.
On Tuesday, the Future Syria Party Youth Council held a seminar in Raqqa, northern Syria, on activating youth participation in political life.
The seminar was held in the party district council of the city of Raqqa, and was attended by a number of youth from the city of Raqqa.
During the seminar, the attendees discussed the obstacles and challenges facing the Syrian youth and preventing them from engaging in political life.
Ismail explained that the lack of involvement of young people in political parties during the past decades “is due to their lack of confidence in the authoritarian and nationalist parties that ruled the region.”
The head of the council added that the authoritarian and nationalist parties kept young people away from sovereign and decision-making positions “in a systematic and dictatorial manner.”
Ismail pointed out that young people suffer from alienation inside the country due to their lack of an active role in political life.
