Mutual bombardment between opposition factions, government forces in Syria’s Idlib
IDLIB, Syria (North Press) – On Thursday, the de-escalation zone in northwestern Syria witnessed mutual bombardment between the Turkish-backed armed factions and the Syrian government forces.
A military source in the opposition told North Press that government forces targeted opposition sites in the towns of al-Ziyara, Qastoun, and al-Enkawi, located in the Ghab Plain area in the western Hama countryside.
The bombing coincided with intense flight of Russian warplanes and drones in the countryside of Idlib, Hama and Latakia, without recording any air strike, according to the sources.
On Wednesday, Syrian government forces targeted opposition fortifications in the villages of Kansafra, Sufuhun, al-Bara, and Quqafin south of Idlib in addition to Khirbat al-Naqus, al-Qahira, al-Zaqou and al-Mansoura, west of Hama.
The Fateh al-Mubin Operations Room, which includes Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham and Jaysh al-Izza along with the National Front for Liberation bombed military gatherings of government forces in the vicinity of the 46th Regiment in the western countryside of Aleppo with B9 shells.
The military escalation came within the de-escalation zone between the government forces and the armed factions despite the entry into force of a cease-fire agreement which entered its second year.
