Russian and Turkish forces patrol Syria’s Kobani
KOBANI, Syria (North Press) – On Monday, the Russian Military Police conducted a joint patrol with Turkey in the western countryside of Kobani, northeast Syria.
This patrol is the 60th between the two forces in the region since the Russian-Turkish ceasefire agreement in northeast Syria.
The patrol set out from Ashma village, 20 kilometers west of Kobani, and it included eight Russian-Turkish military vehicles in addition to two Russian helicopters.
It roamed the villages of Jarqli Fawqani, Bayadiya, and Jibban until reaching Zor Mahgawir, which is located opposite Jarabulus on the eastern bank of the Euphrates River and is the final village in the western Kobani countryside.
The patrol turned around immediately upon arriving in the village, towards the east, passing the villages of Bayadiya, Jibban, Meshko, Binder, Qara Quwi, and Sosan before reaching the Internal Security Forces checkpoint near the radio tower west of Kobani.
After this, the patrol arrived at the starting point in the village of Ashma after passing through the villages of Seftak, Buban, Khouri, Dikmdash, Qoran, and Jarqli Fawqani.
After that, Turkish military vehicles returned to Turkey through the gate near Ashma, while the Russian military vehicles returned to their position near the radio tower.
On June 21, the 59th Russian-Turkish patrol in the region was conducted in the eastern countryside of Kobani.
