Tribal infighting in Syria’s Deir ez-Zor leaves dead, wounded
DEIR EZ-ZOR, Syria (North Press) – On Friday, a young man killed and other were wounded in a clan infighting in the town of Abu Hamam, east of Deir ez-Zor, eastern Syria.
One person was killed and others were wounded in clan infighting between two families in the town, following an old dispute between them, Muwaffaq al-Hussein, a resident of Abu Hamam town, told North Press.
Al-Hussein added that the wounded were taken to the town’s hospital for treatment.
He pointed out that the dispute began on Thursday afternoon with light clashes, and renewed this morning with machine guns.
The residents of the area appealed the Syrian Democratic Forces and the dignitaries of the region to intervene and resolve the dispute between the two parties, according to al-Hussein.
On June 16, two children and a young man lost their lives, and eight others were injured in a clan infighting between two families in the town of Thiban, east of Deir ez-Zor.
