Securing citizens’ needs in Manbij is administration’s task: AANES senior official

HASAKAH, Syria (North Press) – The administration in Manbij is responsible for securing fuel, cement and some other foodstuff, said Abd Hamed al-Mehbash, co-chair of the Executive Council of the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (AANES).

On Thursday, a delegation of the AANES paid a visit to the Civil Administration of Manbij, AANES official Facebook reported.

The visit came after protests the region witnessed weeks ago.

Commenting on the protests, al-Mehbash said, “the demonstrations must be within the rules and laws in force so that the competent authorities, especially the Internal Security Forces, protect these demonstrations, but what recently happened in Manbij went outside this framework.”

“Sheikhs and tribal notables had an active role and significant and commendable efforts to calm down the situation and consider the citizens’ demands,” he added.

Al-Mehbash called on the citizens of Manbij to be responsible, aware and cautious of the foreign agendas that are trying to rise on the rightful demands of the people.
