Casualties in VBIED explosion north of Syria’s Aleppo

ALEPPO, Syria (North Press) – On Tuesday, one person died and two others were wounded in a VBIED explosion on the Kafr Jannah – Azaz road in the northern countryside of Aleppo, northwest Syria.

An eyewitness told North Press that the explosion occurred near the entrance to the town of Kafr Jannah, near a military checkpoint of the pro-Turkish Malik Shah faction; the driver of the car was killed and two civilians were wounded.

He added that the car was heading to the city of Afrin in the northern countryside of Aleppo, and that the explosion caused material damage.

On May 26, two persons were wounded due to an IED place inside a car on Rajo Road in the city of Afrin.

The city of Afrin and its environs in northwest Syria have been occupied by Turkey and its affiliated armed opposition groups since March 2018.

Areas of Syria held by Turkish-backed armed groups are witnessing arbitrary detentions and assassinations, accompanied by successive explosions amid the armed groups’ inability to control security and stabilize the area.
