Turkish forces shell Syrian government forces’ sites in Hama and Idlib
IDLIB, Syria (North Press) – On Sunday, Turkish forces bombed Syrian government sites in Ghab Plain, west of Hama, while the latter intensified its ground bombardment of the area.
Since mid-May, the de-escalation zones in Idlib and its countryside, Hama, and Latakia, northwest Syria, have witnessed an escalation of military operations and mutual bombing between pro-Turkish opposition factions and the forces of the Syrian regime.
The Turkish forces stationed at the Zaydiah point targeted the positions of the Syrian government forces in Jorin Camp, west of Hama, with heavy artillery, a military source from the opposition told North Press.
The government forces targeted with artillery shells the villages and towns of al-Ziyarah district in Ghab Plain, which led to fires in crops near the town, eyewitnesses told North Press.
The Syrian government forces and the opposition factions continue to violate the ceasefire agreement signed by Russia and Turkey on March 5, 2020, in the de-escalation zone in northwest of Syria.
