Syria’s Autonomous Administration to develop curricula, correct mistakes
RAQQA, Syria (North Press) – The Curriculum Department is working on improving school curricula and correcting mistakes, Education Board of the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (AANES) co-chair Nisrin Doko said on Saturday.
Two days ago, AANES, on its official website, stated that the Education Board and Curriculum Department held a meeting during which they focused on organizational issues and the development of some school subjects according to the level of students and developments in the educational process.
The AANES Education Board decided to reprint the subjects of Sociology for the tenth class and the Kurdish language for the sixth class after developing the content in addition to providing all corrections to the newly printed subjects.
Relying on specialized committees, “the Education Board corrected the mistakes that were found in some books and they are ready for printing,” Doko told North Press.
Meanwhile, schools of the AANES officially teach the curricula of United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) in addition to that of the AANES Education Board and Curriculum Department.
The Education Board co-chair pointed out that “steps are being taken to standardize curricula in schools of northeast Syria,” without specifying a period of time.
