Government forces bomb opposition groups in Syria’s Idlib, Hama
IDLIB, Syria (North Press) – On Wednesday, the Syrian government forces targeted the opposition groups in separate areas in the countryside of Idlib and Hama, northwest Syria, with missiles and artillery shells.
The government forces shelled the fortifications of the Turkish-backed armed opposition groups in the towns of al-Fatira, Kansafra, al-Bara, and the outskirts of Benin and Sufuhn towns in Zawiya Mountain in the southern countryside of Idlib, a military source of the opposition told North Press.
The shelling coincided with intensive flight by Russian warplanes and drones over Idlib, Hama, Latakia and Aleppo countryside.
At dawn today, the government forces renewed their bombardment on opposition groups’ sites in the villages and towns of Ziyara, Qarqur and Daqmaq in the Ghab Plain in the western Hama countryside.
Yesterday, artillery shells and missile strikes by the Syrian government forces caused fires in crops of the Ghab Plain region, west of Hama, where the area was estimated at about 30 acres of wheat and nigella crops.
