Global Coalition pledges to support Syria’s Deir ez-Zor

DEIR EZ-ZOR, Syria (North Press) – On Saturday, co-chair of the Eastern Region in eastern Deir ez-Zor, Muhammad al-Omayri told North Press that the American delegation stressed to support the region and pledged to provide $50 million as service support.

Al-Omayri added, Bronstein stressed the real partnership in the region by expediting to fulfill development, service and social projects in Deir ez-Zor in the foreseeable future.

Moreover, Bronstein stressed that the Global Coalition forces will continue to stay and provide constant support for the Syrian Democratic Forces to pursue ISIS sleeper cells and return security and stability to the region.

Brownstein pointed out that in conjunction with the activity of the ISIS cells in the countryside of Deir ez-Zor, security checkpoints will be increased accompanied by intelligence efforts, according to al-Omayri.

The attendees called on the American delegation to work towards “the international recognition of the Autonomous Administration in North and East Syria (AANES) and provide adequate support through actions not words.”

On May 18, a meeting of an American delegation headed by the US Deputy Special Envoy to Syria David Bronstein was held in Omar oil field east of Deir ez-Zor, eastern Syria.

Notables of Deir ez-Zor and the Civil Council and military leaders attended the meeting to discuss the security and service situation and secure the required support for the region.
