124 new coronavirus cases recorded in Syrian government-held areas
DAMASCUS, Syria (North Press) – On Wednesday, the media office of the Ministry of Health of the Syrian government recorded 124 new coronavirus infections and 13 deaths in its areas of control.
The government’s media office stated on its Facebook account that the new deaths were four in Damascus, three in each of Aleppo and Latakia, two in Homs, and one in Tartus.
Meanwhile, the media office announced the registration of 188 new recoveries.
Government-held areas have been recently witnessing a remarkable increase in the number of coronavirus infections.
The new cases were 24 in Damascus, 19 in Aleppo, 18 in each of Deir ez-Zor and Homs, 17 in Latakia, 15 in Rif-Dimashq.
Meanwhile, other infections were six in Hama, four in Tartus, and three in al-Qunaitra.
The total toll of the infections in the government-held areas has come up to 22,513, including 1,572 deaths and 16,471 recoveries.
