Syrian government-held areas witness 124 new coronavirus cases, 11 deaths
DAMASCUS, Syria (North Press) – On Tuesday, the media office of the Ministry of Health of the Syrian government recorded 124 new coronavirus infections and 11 deaths in its areas of control.
The government’s media office stated on its Facebook account that the new deaths were three each in Damascus and Latakia, two each in Homs and Aleppo, and one in Suwayda.
Meanwhile, the media office announced the registration of 186 new recoveries.
Government-held areas have been recently witnessing a remarkable increase in the number of coronavirus infections.
The new cases were 26 in Aleppo, 18 in Latakia and Rif-Dimashq, 14 in Damascus, and 12 in Suwayda.
Meanwhile, other infections were seven each in Daraa and Hasakah, six each in al-Qunaitra and Homs, and five each in Hama and Tartus.
The total toll of the infections in the government-held areas has come up to 22,389, including 1,559 deaths and 16,283 recoveries.
