HAMA, Syria (North Press) – On Tuesday, a civilian was killed by a landmine on agricultural land north of Hama, central Syria, which is held by the Syrian government forces.
Local sources told North Press that the mine exploded on agricultural land in the town of Jubbain in the countryside of Mahrada, in the northern countryside of Hama.
The explosion killed farmer Hayel Ali while he was working on his land in the town, the source added.
On April 22, two landmines exploded in the region of Salamiya in the eastern countryside of Hama, killing two women and wounding three civilians.
Unexploded ordnance in the areas that witnessed military confrontations pose a threat to the lives of the residents, amid absence of awareness campaigns on how to deal with them.
