Syria’s Autonomous Administration records 166 new coronavirus infections

QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) – On Monday, the Health Board of the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (AANES) announced the recording of 166 new coronavirus infections and six deaths in northeast Syria.

AANES’ Facebook page quoted Jiwan Mustafa, co-chair of the AANES Health Board, who stated that the deaths were two men and a woman in Qamishli, a man from Hasakah, one from Derik, and a woman in Deir ez-Zor. 

Most of the infections today were concentrated in Qamishli 59 cases, Hasakah 47, Raqqa 25, Derik 27, Derbasiya 7, and one in Hawl Camp, east Hasakah.

Meanwhile, the AANES Health Board recorded 8 new recoveries.

With the announcement of these new cases, the number of people infected with coronavirus in the regions of northeast Syria has reached 14,049 confirmed cases, including 462 deaths and 1,444 recoveries.

This new toll comes on the seventh day of the complete lockdown imposed in the northeastern regions of Syria.
