Pro-Turkish groups arrest two women, child in Syria’s Afrin

AFRIN, Syria (North Press) – On Tuesday, the pro-Turkish Ahrar al-Sham faction arrested two women and a child in the Jinderis region in the countryside of Afrin, northern Syria.

”Ahrar al-Sham raided the house of the elderly Khalida Ibrahim, and arrested her, her daughter, Hanaa, and her granddaughter in the Tel neighborhood of Jinderis, north of Aleppo,” a local source told North Press.

They were driven to the headquarters of Ahrar al-Sham, and their fate is still unknown, the source pointed out.

On April 11, members of the pro-Turkish Levant Front faction arrested two men from the village of Ziyarah in the Sherawa region in the city of Afrin while they were trying to enter Turkish lands.

Afrin has been under pro-Turkish armed groups’ control since March 2018.

The Turkish-backed armed groups continue to conduct arbitrary arrest campaigns against the residents of Afrin and its countryside amid international silence, according to human rights reports.
