Syrian government-held areas announce seven coronavirus deaths and 104 infections

DAMASCUS, Syria (North Press) – On Monday, the information office of the Health Ministry in the Syrian government recorded 104 new coronavirus infections and seven deaths in its areas of control.

The government information office stated on Facebook account that the new deaths were three in Damascus, two in Latakia and one each in Aleppo and Tartus, as recorded 108 recoveries.

Recently, the government-held areas have been witnessing a noticeable increase in the number of the coronavirus cases amid warnings of the collapse of the health situation in these areas.

The new recorded cases were 24 in Latakia, 24 in Suwayda, 14 in Daraa, 11 in Quneitra, nine in Damascus, seven in Rif Dimashq, seven in Homs, six in Tartus, and two in Deir ez-Zor.

The total toll of infection in the government-held areas has come up to 20,435 including 1,339 deaths and 14,230 recoveries.
